$300/day within a 1.5 hour drive of Fort Collins (Boulder and Denver included). $500/day plus travel expenses for visits elsewhere. Includes three presentations or workshops, and time for book-signing and chatting.

Workshops work best with groups of fewer than 30 students. For presentations, group sizes of fewer than 100 students are preferred, if possible. Limit 3 presentations/workshops per day.
Depending on the presentation or workshop, an overhead and/or PowerPoint projector may be needed.
I ask that you arrange for my books to be sold to interested students. You can do this through your local bookstore, which will usually give a discount, or through Random House, which also gives a discount. I will provide you with sample letters to parents with book order forms to send home with students at least a month in advance. If selling books to students is not an option at your school, we can discuss an alternative plan. I am happy to sign books before or after the presentations/workshops. The students will have a much richer experience if they are familiar with me and my writing before the visit. Here are some ideas for preparing the students: You could ask your media specialist to make sure several copies of the book are available in the school library. He or she could do a "book talk" for the book. You might use the book as a read-aloud in your class, or give it as an option for independent reading projects and presentations.
